Truth – Speak Truth; Don’t Be A Half-Truth Whisper

Posted by kairospix (Singapore, Singapore) on 30 April 2007 in People & Portraits and Portfolio.

It’s never easy to speak the truth. Stark naked truth is always uncomfortable. To be upfront with someone about something does not always mean that person would be willing to accept it. I guess it calls forth wisdom to know when and how to speak the truth.

But how sure are we that we have the whole truth all the time? The scary thing is that sometimes we can be so very sure that we know the whole truth and nothing but the truth when in actual fact we only have half-truths or part-truths. The sad part is that it’s very easy for us to jump at making judgments even before we check out everything! Hey, even in a court of law you get to hear all sides before a verdict is made, right? So shouldn’t this be the case too in day to day living?

The saddest part I guess is when instead of asking and listening to clarify the matter, one begins to make assumptions and whisper the half-truths (to ourselves in our minds or to another) passing them on as the whole truth when it’s not the case.

May we learn to be better listeners, seeking whole truths rather than being a half-truth whisperer.
