Way – Direction

Yesterday, Sunday (6 May) was the end of the theme on Truth. Thanks to all who came by to have a peek at all the shots on Truth, for your comments and for sharing your thoughts! :)

So for those who are still wondering what was the key that will open the lock, do check out yesterday’s shot. :)

Once again thanks to all the staff at AM3 for all their hard work to improve on the site! :)

I seem to have problems accessing to “View all photoblog images for Monday 7, May 2007”. It kept saying “Forbidden. You don’t have permission to access…” even though I’m logged in. Anyone has the same problem? I guess AM3 is still hard at tweaking the system. Many thumbs up for their continued hard work!

Today, I will be posting my first shot on a new theme - Way. As mentioned yesterday, truth will point you the way and eventually give you a direction.

Everyday, we would have to make countless decisions as to which way we should go, from deciding on what to wear to what needs to be done to clinch that business deal. After awhile, you would think you have figured out the way to take.

But sometimes that way or direction may not always be what we thought it should be or expect it to be. When we encounter such a situation, it can be uncomfortable and create cognitive dissonance in us. But we should not be too quick to brush it aside and insist on the usual way, just to remain in our comfort zone.

In this picture, the arrow is pointing in a way that might not represent what we might normally associate with in a picture or graphic of an arrow. Usually we tend to see the arrow either pointing upward, downward, left or right. And even if it’s at an angle like this shot, they tend to be pointing outward/upward.

However, here the arrow is pointing somewhere in between these usual positions and inwards. It is in a direction that is less commonly seen. It reminds me that every now and then, I need to look for the uncommon, to trod the unbeaten path and consider the “road less traveled” as that would have opened up new worlds, new experiences, new adventures and it would have “made all the difference”! :)

“Two roads diverged in a wood
And I took the one less traveled by
And that has made all the difference”

~ Robert Frost
