Life – Just Enough LightPosted by kairospix (Singapore, Singapore) on 16 May 2007 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio. Remember when we were young and were afraid of the dark we had such a thing as the night-light? :) They are small lights switched on at night to not only make us feel more secure but also to guide us to the bathroom should we need to visit it in the middle of the night. Then there are those guide lights in a darken movie theater to help us find our way to our seats in the dark. These aren’t big bright lights. There are just small lights, bright enough to just show us enough to help us move along. Take this picture for example, there is just enough light to show us where on-off button is. In the same way, in life we sometimes do not need to be seeing everything or to know everything before we can do something. Sometimes all we need is just that little bit to help us see and know enough so that we can make that journey and reach towards our destination. Camera - Canon Powershot G6

I like it. It's the power button on a computer CPU, right? I like the little shine boxes (as my daughter, the sketch artist refers to them) on the upper left and lower right of the button. 16 May 2007 4:36pm @Russ: haha actually it's the power button for my quick battery charger :) @a hat full of sky: :) tks! Dave from United KingdomReally enjoying your macro shots, it's amazing what you can come up with just looking at the small details in things. Well done!:) 16 May 2007 5:56pm @Dave: i'm glad that you are enjoying the shos :) @Myst: tks! :) @JV: yes... it's true alla from Toronto, CanadaI like the alien green! Great closeup shot, great like all the others! So, what if you don't see the dim light. There is a navigation assignment in the army where you have to find a target at night. The target is a green glow stick. It’s pitch black, you see a green light in the bushes, you run to it thinking you have reached your goal. When you come close to it, it disappears. You see another light, then it disappears. Then you realize it wasn’t a glow stick, it was glow-worms! And the glow stick is no where to be seen. Sometime dim lights can be districting and confuting and we just wait for the bright light to shine and show us the way. 16 May 2007 6:35pm @alla: heh heh yeah it does look like alien green doesn't it! thank you for sharing your thoughts on these shots and my reflections :) yes, in such circumstances, sometimes it's wise to just wait for the flood Light to guide us to where we should be going... tks for your thoughts! :) curious - are you in the Army? :) Amy from CanadaYou are definitely a philosopher K!! The commentary with this image is very thought provoking... well done! 16 May 2007 7:02pm @Amy: yo amy! haha! tks! hmm...maybe i should have taken up philosophy as a major in university... haha :) anyways, tks for ya kind words of support, pal! :) Vikram from Mesa, United StatesGreat!!! Nice colour and composition once again. 16 May 2007 7:05pm @Vikram: tks for your kind words of encouragement! tks also for sharing your thoughts too as it has set me thinking about whether there could be a reset/shutdown button in life and who would press it... circumstances and other people may cause our button to be reset and/or shutdown in life, but i think whether we remain in that state of being reset into a situation we don’t like or remaining shutdown (here I’m thinking about being a dead-end situation and not final death) is still to some extent in our hands... because we can always press the reset button and try again :) @Daniel A. Norman: tks! :) @Vahid: tks! :) Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomCool green lighting. Its amazing but a little light goes a long way, and I like the way your images and text adds to our lives each day too. Then I began to read your text. A smile appeared on my face. I hope you continue to write meaningfully with your posts as they're always a cracking good read. :) 16 May 2007 11:05pm @Sash: hi sash! M.E. from Encino, United Statesyou're always so profound! i like it... i still am afraid of the dark and still use night lights! to think I'm no longer 6, isn't that ridiculous? 16 May 2007 11:22pm @M.E.: hey ME!
