Life – Recharging Light Glow

As I look at this made picture (as Ansel Adams would say ~ "You don't take a photograph. You make it."), it reminded me of the importance of recharging ourselves.

Why do we recharge rechargeable batteries? Simply because it has run out of energy and so it cannot power your cameras, your flash, your handphones ( we generally call cellphones or mobilephones as handphones in Singapore ;-] ), your mp3 players, etc., etc., etc…

Energy, Power – all essential to life in our modern times!

I remember watching a documentary about a super cold winter in Canada which did not lift for days. It was so bad that huge power towers, laden with snow and frozen ice, collapsed cutting power to a whole city! Without power, how can you have heat for warmth and light to move around safely? The city was crippled for days and sadly lives were lost.

Our bodies need energy too. It needs to be replenish whenever it’s running low. But eating and drinking alone is not enough. It has to be coupled with rest and relaxation. Haven’t we heard of people who died because of an ulcer not attended to or heart failure due to overwork? There’s such a thing as psychosomatic illness – psychologically induced physical ailments. We need to relax our minds and remove the toxicity in the body due to stress.

And we need to sleep too. Sleep recharges us when we sleep as the body repairs itself, cells get some time off to recoup.

So I hope you've managed to take some time off this weekend to recharge. If you can’t, then sometime along this week, make time for a good relaxing break. Switch on the charger and light the recharge light. Rest and rejuvenate. It'll put a glow on you! :)
