I took the opportunity, after work, to make some photos of these bright colourful lights left in the office’s storeroom before they are returned.
I like this shot the best because of how the bright lights from the lamps also lit up the side of the metal cupboard that was nearby.
That’s how some people are in our lives – they light up our lives! :)
They need not be just our loved ones. They could be our colleagues at work, our clients or even our students. Hey they could even be strangers that cross our paths for a moment in time and never to meet again.
The thing that got me thinking from this photo was how the bright cheerful colours of the lights painted the otherwise dull metal cupboard nearby. That’s how these positive and cheerful people are, aren’t they? Their cheer and joy just contagiously rubs on to you! Their presence leaves you with a comforting sense of sanity in an otherwise insane world. And for just a brief moment in time, they lift us out of the mire we live in and for just that brief moment, we get to savour good in an otherwise world that has gone bad…paradise on earth. :)
And the amazing part is that when we stay around them, their colourful lights not only fall on us but they get reflected from us and hey, it may just fall and paint others around us too!
But such people are a rare breed in this world. So when you do come across one, stay close. Then their brightness and colourfulness will become your bright colourful lights…for others! :)

Hi Kairospix, you're right. These people are truly gems we should not overlook. I'm glad i've met at least one of such people who have stayed in my life. How about u? And the colours in your shot are stunning!

It’s true. All of my close friends I’ve meant in a strange way. It’s like they would come out of nowhere at the moment I need them. Or maybe I attract them by being in a certain mood? Either way, there were there for me.

not too sure what they were originally used for but my ingenious colleagues used it as lights for letting competitors of a speech contest know how much time they have left before time's up! clever!

Great shot! Interesting perspective and I always love how you have commentaries beneath with the emotions you're feeling pertaining to the picture at hand. I think it's always interesting to compare the person who captured the image's emotions to the viewers, to see if they derive the same feeling from it, or something completely different! :)
