This shot of the filament of a bulb reminds me that ultimately in order for us to be able to shine bright colourful lights on others, we first have to make sure our inner core light is shining.
But this picture also brought home another point – that for the light to be seen as bright, there must be darkness around it. If everywhere else is just as bright, then the brightness of the filament wouldn’t be seen as that bright and thus it would not be of much use in lighting up the surrounding.
So it is with life. Our dark moments are the very times that would test our inner core. Would we be succumbed by the darkness or would we choose to do what is necessary so as to shine in the midst of darkness?
The choice really lies in our hands. In moments of no-light, what would we do with our inner core light?

It's hard to shine something at the darkest moment. I know I usually don't want to. Like this morning, I just want to suck all the light - as a black hole! It's dangerous, I know.
Very good picture. You are the best!
It looks like a radio active worm, hehe. Very cool :)

Zap!!! You're a fan of green, aren't you...Me too!!!
I put in one of those energy saving globes in my kitchen the other night. It EXPLODED through the glass housing, creating a hole during its progress to the floor. I might go back to these 'old-fashioned' ones. :)

@Sash: sorry to hear about your exploding incident yeah sometimes old is better :) tks for coming by and for sharing your thoughts! i shall keep in mind to try to shoot more of your favourite colour! haha :)
Your Ideas are always well advised and you feature a creative way to show them through your pictures.
In my opinion it's not a question whether to stay paralysed or to shine again. I believe everybody wants a shiny inner core (naturally). The problem is to find out your light is almost extinct and get enough strength to turn your life around.
My two cents worth.
24 May 2007 6:12pm
@Calcifer: very good thoughts Cal thanks for sharing them yes, we need to persevere in keeping the shine even when your light is almost extinct thanks for coming by! :)

Great and comfortfull thoughts, never loose hope. I refer to John 1:5 (the light shines in the dark, but the dark hasn't captured it - this is my translation of the Dutch version and not the authorized English (James) version).
