Life – Light At The End of The Dark Tunnel

Finally it's Friday! Weekend is round the corner!

This shot shows how it feels when you see light at the end of a dark tunnel. It feels good as you come to an end of a dark journey and you see that the end is near and you'll be out of it soon!

I guess that is how I feel as I enter the month of June as this will be my last month at work! Yeah! By the end of this month I'll be out of this job which I've been at for the last two years.

On the one hand it's sad because I'll be leaving certain wonderful colleagues and responsive students, yet I'm glad to be moving on to something else in life.

Why am I glad? Part of it is because I would no longer have to be involved with an institution that has compromised integrity in the pursuit of national awards. And part of it is because of poor leadership and management.

So I see the light not only as a sign that I'll be out soon but also the light of what I must be careful not to do - compromise integrity, poor management and blind prideful insecure leadership.

I'm glad to be going into the light soon for I certainly do not want to stay in such a place for long lest I become more and more like them just so as to survive and eke out a living.

There's more to life than mere dollars and cents. There's such a thing as living by right values.

But it will cost to enter the right side of the light side to live by those values. It does mean we may have to scale back or even give up what we want or expect in life. It would mean being courageous enough to let go of certain security blankets we are holding on to tightly.

It is never an easy thing to let go. Neither should we be too quick to jump off without considering the consequences of leaving. It should be done only after much careful thought, evaluation and planning.

But once these are thought through, then the final question is, are we willing to courageously let go, take the final plunge and walk straight towards the light at the end of the dark tunnel? That is something only we can answer ourselves.

Anyway, friends, have a good weekend! :)
