Life – Fragrant Amber Light

Posted by kairospix (Singapore, Singapore) on 10 June 2007 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio.

It’s Sunday and it’s day light a fragrant incense, take back seat and relax. :)

The amber light of this shot of the incense stick reminds me that in life we do not always need a raging fire to burn fast and furious. It is exactly because the incense stick is burning slowly it is able to prolong giving off its fragrance over time. A quick burn would have meant the fragrance wouldn’t last for long.

In life I suppose we should also not rush things so that we may be able to savour the moment more.

I think of nature and the flowers we pass by each day. Do we make time to stop and take in the view? Do we take time to smell the flowers?

I also think about relationships, whether with our loved ones or friends or even another human being we have not yet met. Do we spend time with them to really experience the fragrance of who they are and for them to experience our fragrance of who we are?

Time is precious and how we wish we had more time. But we need to make time to smell the flowers we come across in our lives whether natural ones or human ones. :)

Have a fragrant Sunday!

p/s - the chinese character at the bottom of the dish means fragrance :)
