Life – Bus Light Blue

It’s Sunday! Another day to take it easy before the start of another new week.

As I look at this shot of an empty bus I was taking to head home one evening, I can almost hear the haunting strains of that bluesy song by Michael Buble’s “Home” being played in the background.

It reminds me of home and it does make me feel “I wanna go home”. But where is home? Is it just that house or that apartment you live in? Is it a place where your family members or close ones are? I cannot help think that we can have the closest people around us in a most wonderfully furnished posh house and yet it may not feel like we are truly home.

Home to me is where you find love, joy, peace, rest and contentment. I’ve yet to find all these here on this broken world and so I’m still looking forward to my true Home to come.

somewhat gives me an eerie feeling with the bluish light.Yeah,why is there a butterfly?i like your reflection dude.Sometimes i think the real challenge is to recognize where your real home is.We are pilgrims in this world but many times begin to see what is temporal as home;the things of this world,its attractions...and forget we are really on a journey to the REAL HOME.

Like Tyan, the butterfly dominates this image for me too. It reminds me that I have had many 'homes' around the world. I was very conscious of creating a 'home', however temporary, for my young family. But an abode is not a home. Good question, just what makes a home?
A home must fulfil one's basic physically needs; a place where one can eat and sleep but above all feel safe . It is also a place for sharing; a place where you can extend your own life by sharing it others; family, a lover or visiting friends. It is also a special place where you can make small alterations to how the world is organised; the small alterations that please you and make your world comfortable and familiar. This sounds silly, but it is important that we can create or change the world for what we perceive as ‘better’; it gives us ‘purpose’. A ‘home’ allows us to experience the feelings of ownership, control and comfort in your own world, don't you think?

The Dutch poet Slauerhoff once wrote: "In my poems I will live", considering his poetry as his home. His life wasn't easy, I think strong people find their home in theirselves, like he did, always finding people to share and making their situation their homes. Nice words, but difficult to achieve in hard times. Don't think of it in terms of achieving or obtaining, simply go on the way you feel it's best, then it will come to you instead of you going to it by severe attempts.

Sorry I haven't been around in a while.

I love this shot. Its not spooky but has a comfort to it, the blue is a pretty color.

I think "home" is whatever you need at the moment. Sometimes after a hard day, going to the place you live (apt, house, whatever) and laying down on your pillow with your blankets is home. But then, we need more then that sometimes... like the home with family and friends. But mostly I think its how you feel about someplace that makes it home.
