Life – Light Rays

It’s the beginning of another week.

I thought I would post this shot of the rising sun taken from another vantage point at my work place.

I like how you can see the light rays of the sun piercing through the clouds lighting the earth below.

It’s like the sun wanting to reach out and bless the earth with life sustaining light. And regardless of who you are, it will shine on you just as it will shine on both the good and the not so good people in this world. Not for a moment will it cease to shine on anyone even if that someone has evil intent or did something wrong.

Without trivializing the fact that this is a broken world we live in and people do get hurt and harmed, perhaps there is a lesson we can learn from brother sun – to learn to shine and bless even those whom we feel do not deserve it.

I know it’s not easy to do. It’s easier said than done especially if these people have harmed you or hurt you or your loved ones and they are not even remorseful about it. How do you forgive such people much less bless them? Most difficult and perhaps even impossible?

I know that feeling as I have been there before. But looking at this shot and meditating on it has reminded me that one should at least try to first let go of the hurt, anger and disappointment and then with time, learn to forgive. And with even more time, perhaps begin to shine and bless like the light rays of the sun shining not just only on the good but even on the not so good.

Have a good week ahead!
