Life – Sunrise Water Reflection

Posted by kairospix (Singapore, Singapore) on 9 July 2007 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.

It’s another Monday.

Here’s a shot showing the sun rising and how the sunrise water reflection looks elongated, like a beam instead of a circular orb up in the sky.

Reflections can get pretty distorted doesn’t it?

While I like the distortion in this shot I do wonder about the “distortions” we allow in our mental reflections. Would it be positive or negative?

A cup filled exactly up to the mid-point can either be viewed as only half-full or it can be viewed as half-empty. Both views are mental reflections over the same volume of water yet they are as opposite as light and dark. They are very diverse in perspective – one is positive, the other not so.

So while we may not be able to control what comes our way we do have a choice over our mental reflections. That is up to us.

Wishing all many positive reflections throughout the week ahead!
