Life – One Big Water Drop Amongst Many Droplets

Posted by kairospix (Singapore, Singapore) on 23 July 2007 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio.

Days ago I mentioned how easy it is to go with the flow and to stand by your convictions of what is right is never easy to hang on to as illustrated by this shot here.

Today’s shot illustrate another aspect of when one decides to stick on to one’s convictions about what are the right thing or things to do – you probably will stand out like this one big water drop amongst many droplets.

It probably will make many others feel uncomfortable just as much as it would make you feel out of place too. Choosing to do the right thing is never an easy thing to do.

But imagine if Abraham Lincoln decided not to pursue giving freedom to the slaves or Gandhi decides to do nothing about race discrimination or that Mother Teresa continues teaching to the girls of well to do families instead of attending to the dying poor or that Martin Luther King Junior feels that the civil rights of his race can take a back seat or that Nelson Mendala toes the line on apartheid because it would cost him dearly – I can only imagine that the lives of millions would not be as better as what it is today.

It is never easy to stand up and do something for what one knows is the right thing to do. It can make you stand out like a sore thumb to some people. But never forget the good it will do to many more others.

Have a good week ahead.
