The last 3 days I’ve been posting shots from Punggol Park in Singapore with the last two featuring the cat-tail plant which is also shown in the foreground of today’s shot.
Amongst these cat-tails there is this sign which clearly indicated that no swimming is allowed in the water.
I supposed it worked because during my whole 5 hours there, I saw no one swimming.
The water may look inviting but I suppose it must have been deep that the sign is there. Also there were no trained lifeguards to save you if you ran into difficulty. So while the sign can’t stop you from jumping into the water, heeding it can make a difference between life and no life.
I guess in life we must learn to heed the warning signs that come our way as they are there to protect us.
Tomorrow I shall post a different “no” sign with a twist. Do come by and have a look! :)
Meantime, heed the warning signs in life.

This could be a picture from any little pond in our area of Canada. The river in our area is called "Yamaska", a word from the Abenaki language meaning "where are lots of bulrushes". The Abenakis are the original inhabitants of our region, before the arrival of the Europeans. I like the sepia tones, it gives a kind of "eternal" quality to your photo.

Love the sepia and the irony. Any particular reason for no swimming?

Beautiful scene and I like the tones you used in processing this shot.

I think the swimming prohibition may have another purpose altogether. Perhaps it is to protect the plants and wildlife that people swimming in large numbers might damage or destroy. If I saw such a sign here I'd consider a reason like this, but I'd also look around to see if it served some financial interest, such as forcing people to use a commercial facility instead of something for free. Quite often our rules and laws and regulations are intimately connected to some favored-one's pocketbook.

Great toning: makes the picture. Perhaps no swimming because of crocodiles (two or four legged)?
