Life – “My Precious” In The Water

Posted by kairospix (Singapore, Singapore) on 21 August 2007 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

When I was walking around the small lake in Punggol Park, I noticed this man with a fishnet scooping the water and then sifting through to find something which he would then throw it into the yellow bucket.

Not too sure what he was trying to net but it must have been something valuable to him for the spent quite some time scooping from one place to another searching like Gollum searching for “My Precious” in the water! He was quite absorbed! But to be fair he’s much better looking than Gollum!

Sometimes in life some things (or even some people) can consume our attention so much that we are so engrossed in seeking that thing or that view or that person that it can literally transformed us into something we can never imagine ourselves to be. Like how Smeagol was transformed into Gollum. Such is the power of obsession!

Beware what your precious is…

Anyway, hmm…I wondered what other precious discoveries I could find in the water…so when I searched, I found some interesting foreign objects.

So stay tuned because I will share these discoveries over the rest of the week. What could they be? Will they be precious? :)
