Life – Chained Pipe In The Water

Posted by kairospix (Singapore, Singapore) on 3 September 2007 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio.

Thanks to all who came by my p-blog to take a peek and to leave behind your thoughts all these weeks of this series at Punngol Park!

This week will be my last week on this series and for today I thought I would post this shot of a chained pipe in the water of the small lake at the park.

I’m not to sure exactly if it was purposely build or someone stuck it there on purpose. Maybe it was there for small boats to tie a rope to?

When I look at this shot, it reminds of those days when I was still working and how work can really chain you down. Look at what happens when you get chained down – rusty.

I guess in life we need to every now and then unchained ourselves and experience different aspects of life less we become stagnant. I remember a book I once read about teaching and when a professor was asked why he was always reading and studying his reply was…

“I would rather teach from a streaming brook then a stagnant pool.” Wow!

Sometimes I wonder if I made the right decision to quit my teaching job and become a student again as it has been a struggle to get accustomed to student life again with demanding assignments that require so much reading, gathering of data, reporting, essay-writing, dead-lines to meet… it feels like an ad infinitum busy surge…

But you know although it has been a busy swish and swash it has been enriching as my mind is getting refreshed with new ideas and thoughts by the incessant flow of knowledge…just like a streaming brook! :)

May your week be filled with much gush of refreshing water in life!
