Life – Spheres of Water Jewels II

Posted by kairospix (Singapore, Singapore) on 30 November 2007 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

Here’s another shot of these tiny water jewels.

If only they would last forever but the reality is that these beautifully formed jewels would soon disappear.

Sometimes that’s how some relationships can be isn’t it? A guy was interviewed on a documentary on why he prefer to interact with artificial life-forms, his reply was that so many friendships are temporary and asked how many of us still have friends from our primary school days.

Perhaps the lyrics of the song “Don’t Forget” by Era capture such transience in life…

Connie: “Mom’s sick. She says she can’t get up. My little brother’s getting hungry. I must go to the village to ask for some food. Would you help me?”

Friend: “Sure, Connie. I’ll help ya.”

Connie: “I always feel good when you’re with me.”

Friend: “You’re my friend Connie.”

Connie: “Are you always going to be there when I grow up? Are you?”

Friend: “Cross my heart.”

Don’t you forget about me.
Don’t you forget about me.
We were so soft and young,
In a world of innocence…
Don’t you forget about me.
Don’t you forget all our dreams,
Now you’ve gone away,
Only emptiness remain.

Connie: “I always feel good when you are with me.”

Friend, “You’re my friend Connie.”

Connie, “Are you always going to be there when I grow up? Are you?”

Don’t you forget about me.
Don’t you forget about me.
We were so soft and young,
In a world of innocence…
Don’t you forget about me.
Don’t you forget all our dreams,
Now you’ve gone away,
Only emptiness remain.

Don’t you forget about me.
Don’t you forget about me.

Even though in life we may face broken promises and painful end of relationships, yet I’m reminded of these comforting words…

Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. ~ Isa 49:15-16

Yep, at least there is One who will definitely not forget.
